Project Description
The Coleman Lab in the Department of Surgery at OSU is seeking a passionate and motivated research student to contribute to projects focused on trauma-induced coagulopathy, transfusion medicine, and sex differences in platelet biology. Dr. Coleman is a NIH-funded surgeon-scientist who runs a basic and translational research program and team eager to mentor undergraduates. Responsibilities for this position include preparing reagents, conducting experiments under the guidance of senior lab members, and participating in lab meetings. Students will develop basic laboratory skills and learn techniques including ELISA, aggregometry, calcium flux, Western blotting, RNA sequencing sample preparation, and data analysis for grant applications and publications. Motivated students may have opportunities to present their work at departmental research events. This opportunity is great for a student interested in a future career in the biological or medical sciences.
