Spring Undergraduate Research Festival

Spring Undergraduate Research Festival 2025

The Spring Undergraduate Research Festival is a presentation opportunity for all students engaging in undergraduate research who wish to share their work.

Spring Undergraduate Research Festival Application

The Spring Undergraduate Research Festival will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026. For poster and presentation resources, visit our Writing and Presenting Research Page. The SURF application will open at 8am on Sunday, February 22, 2026, and close at 11:59pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026 (please disregard the automated Qualtrics message that currently says the survey has expired; it will still open on the 22nd).

Looking to try a different presentation style? Consider applying for the 3-Minute Thesis Competition!

The 3-Minute Thesis challenges participants to present their research in just three minutes using a single slide and everyday language to an audience. More information and the application can be found on our 3-Minute Thesis page.

Who can participate and what are the benefits of participation?

The annual Spring Undergraduate Research Festival is a research poster forum for students to share their mentored research projects with the broader academic community. Happening solely in the spring, we offer presentations during 60 minute sessions, where students convey their research with the aid of a poster. As with the other forums hosted by UR&CI, the festival is not specific to any discipline; students from all disciplines across the university are invited to apply, and student presenters should prepare to discuss their research with a general audience. The festival is open to all undergraduate students at Ohio State who are participating in faculty-mentored research, and students can present on projects that are still ongoing - final results are not necessary for participation.
