Project Description
The Department of French and Italian Studies at The Ohio State University is seeking two creative and motivated student interns to help increase the visibility and impact of French and Italian language, literature, and culture across campus and in the broader community. Through the development of a comprehensive network of students, faculty, alumni, community members, organizations, and professional partners with an interest in French and Italian studies, interns will help strengthen student recruitment, promote language study, foster interdisciplinary connections, and create new opportunities for mentorship, internships, cultural engagement, and career development. This student-driven initiative invites interns to bring their creativity, curiosity, and ideas to the project. Beyond building a database, students will have the opportunity to help shape the future of French and Italian Studies at Ohio State by identifying new connections, proposing innovative outreach strategies, and developing initiatives that highlight the enduring value of language, literature, and cultural studies in today’s global society.
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns will:
• Develop a database of individuals and organizations connected to French and Italian language and culture, both within Ohio State and beyond.
• Explore partnerships with external organizations, including cultural institutions, professional networks, alumni, and French- and Italian-related industries.
• Develop storytelling and promotional materials (including infographics, flyers, Instagram stories, or other creative communication products) that highlight students, alumni, faculty, community partners, and the value of the department's partnerships and programs.
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

• Have strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and are comfortable using AI-powered tools to support research, communication, organization, and content development.
• Degree-seeking students at the bachelor level are eligible to apply
Proficiency in French or Italian is required, as the language will be used throughout the internship.
