Project Description
Dr. Guo-Liang Wang is looking for undergraduate research assistants interested in gaining experience in plant pathology and biofungicide research. Our lab focuses on developing sustainable agricultural treatments by testing novel antifungal peptides for the control of common plant pathogens, such as Magnaporthe oryzae and Botrytis. We are looking to recruit highly motivated, detail-oriented undergraduates to work 10 hours per week on various tasks related to our research. Responsibilities will include growing plants in growth chambers and greenhouses, preparing culture media and pathogen inoculum, performing plant inoculations, and conducting antifungal assays. This position supports research in environmental science and agricultural biotechnology. The initial appointment will be for the Fall 2026 semester, with the possibility of extension into 2027 based on satisfactory performance. This is an excellent experience for students interested in pursuing graduate education in the biological or agricultural sciences.
