											Project Description		
														Responsibilities will include:
• Isolating DNA from mouse tissue and preparing samples for genotyping.
• Pouring agarose gels, loading samples, and, as proficiency develops, running PCR assays.
• Performing lab core duties such as disposing of waste, restocking supplies, preparing basic reagents, picking up orders from the mailroom, and filing records.
• Organizing and labeling samples with directions from senior researchers.
• Optional: Basic mouse colony support (weaning and ear clipping) for candidates who are comfortable working with animals.
• With time and consistent performance, students may have the opportunity to shadow or learn more advanced techniques such as imaging, tissue culture, or surgical procedures.

Additional Information		
														The position is open for at least one semester. Students are welcome to continue in the lab for multiple semesters, and additional opportunities will become available as skills and experience increase. We will be accepting new undergraduate research positions on a rolling basis until we reach capacity (expected to be ~3 total students).
