Fellowship Award amount: $6,000 for the ten weeks, paid weekly
Fellowship Hours: 35-38/weekly, Summer 2026
Application Deadline: February 23, 2026
The Libraries are pleased to announce the Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship, now in its tenth year. The URLF is a ten-week summer fellowship program for undergraduates interested in investigating an original topic of their choice under the guidance of a librarian mentor. Previous projects have employed a wide range of research methods, including data collection and analysis, textual interpretation, geospatial tools, rare book and manuscript preservation and analysis, interviews, and data visualizations. Students awarded fellowships have opportunities to present their findings at a fall symposium following their project, to publish their research, and to build on their inquiries for future work or graduate school applications.
Two workshops on the URLF application process will be held in January and February 2026. The workshop dates and times (with Zoom link for each workshop):
Tuesday, January 27 from 6-7 p.m.
Friday, February 6 from 2-3 p.m.
The URLF website also includes requirements for the URLF, the application process, some sample proposals, a list of potential mentors, and the criteria used in evaluating applications. Please see the URLF website for all of these details.
